Do You Fulfil the Minimum Selection Criteria? PDF Print E-mail

Step 2.

Work through the following minimum selection criteria. Tick the criteria you fulfil and work towards accomplishing those you don't.

  • Senior Pastoral recommendation in writing (describing your standing in the local church, and your aptitude for Chaplaincy)
  • Evidence of the call to serve in the capacity of a chaplain
  • Long term effective ministry in the local church
  • Evidence of theological credits or similar biblical studies
  • Regular pastoral accountability
  • Completion of, or undertaking of one or more of the following;
    • CPE Clinical Pastoral Education
    • CISD Grief Counsellor Training
    • Counselling Training
    • Drug & Rehab Training
    • Facilitator Training
    • Advanced Education in Pschycology / Counselling
    • Specialised Chaplaincy Education
    • College or University Training in related areas
    • Medical or Similar Credentials

Remember, these are the minimum requirements - the Chaplaincy governing bodies often have other stream specific requirements.
