Susan Marcuccio - How unlocking your purpose and passion leads to multiplication

This practical session will explore how tapping into that which gives us life has an incredible flow on effect in our own lives and those we minister to.  Whether it is building your own business, finding your dream job, or simply stepping into that which you love, unlocking your purpose and passion has a powerful effect on our communication, creativity and commitment.  We will be looking at how we move from addition to multiplication in our own lives as well as how it can assist others through supervision and mentoring.

Paul Bartlett – Redefining multiplication

In this session Paul will redefine what multiplication is, why our current measure is sapping the life out of people and how to multiply what you do without losing your sanity!  In the world of Church and Christian leadership as people grapple with the real measure of success, be encouraged to see multiplication through a new lens. Together we will explore how thinking differently will enhance our provision of supervision and mentoring.  Come along and be encouraged that what you do does make a difference, even if you don’t always see the results from your supervision and mentoring of others.

Liz Crumlish - A cloud of witnesses - the power of community in supervision

Supervision invites a rich blending of wisdom, insight, creativity and contemplation all within a deeply hospitable and reflective space. Its effect is far reaching, for the worker and for those the worker serves. Group supervision amplifies the reach and the impact of intentional, shared reflection on practice.  This workshop will explore, using images and stories how we might embrace the cloud of witnesses, visible and invisible whose wisdom surrounds and informs our practice.

Candy Daniels - The power of preparation in supervision and mentoring

The simple art of multiplication is that what we sow, we reap! With this concept of multiplication, we will examine some key points and the art of preparing oneself for professional practice. It will be an hour to reconnect and explore what is in your hand/heart/mind, the utensils in your toolbox, what you bring to the table, cultivating the relationship with yourself and those at the table and finally, what requires attention with what is on your plate. Be prepared with paper and pen for an interactive session.

Dinah Buchanan - The others in the supervision and mentoring room

We tend to think of individual supervision and mentoring as a one-on-one endeavour between two people.  But there are always ‘others’ in the room. It is never just the person sitting in front of you … for they are surrounded by a cloud of ‘others’.  The people who populate their stories are there in the room with you as well as our own ‘others’..  How can we utilise this phenomenon to bring the supervision session alive? How can we be mindful of this ‘multiplication’ factor in the supervision and mentoring space? Let’s find out …”

Ralph Estherby - What is multiplying in you?

Ensuring effective multiplication of the ‘right stuff’ within your life and ministry.  Our society encourges multiplication of many different things in many different ways.  We want to explore the pressures that are placed upon us to potentially mutiply the ‘wrong stuff’ and neglect that which will really bring us joy, fruitfulness and effectiveness in ministry.

Leeanne Cameron - Supervising and mentoring pastors/clergy/ministers

When we supervise or mentor someone who has influence in the lives of many others we see the multiplication effect in place.  We may support one person but the flow on effect is immense.  In this session we will be exploring what it means to provide supervision and mentoring for pastors/clergy/ministers by hearing from a panel of those both receiving and providing supervision and mentoring in this space.

Tim Dyer - The gift that keeps on giving (Thursday)

We know mentoring and supervision are transformative relationships which positively impact the professional capacity, wellbeing and sustainability of those who engage with these.  It is easy to see these relationships as ‘adding’ to someone’s professional life.  There are however some unexpected spinoff’s from effective mentoring and supervision – these ‘multiplying’ effects can be seen in ourselves as mentors and supervisors, in our supervisee’s lives and relationships and also within the contexts in which our mentees and supervisees work.   In this session we will explore a range of these secondary multiplying benefits of mentoring and supervision.

Tim Dyer - Learning from our supervisees & mentees (Friday)

In this session, we will explore some of the tools and processes involved in learning from our own mentees and supervisees.  Relationships are rarely completely one-way.  All of us benefit, grow and are challenged in a variety of ways from those we seek to enable and support.  The personal and professional spinoffs from mentoring and supervision need careful reflection to ensure we engage with integrity and openness.
