Throughout my life, I enjoyed and am passionate about encouraging people to develop and grow so that they can achieve their dreams and reach their potential. That was my calling as a teacher, student service manager, ministry leader, chaplain, chaplaincy leader – and it is still as a supervisor.
Alongside my professional journey as an educator and leader, I volunteered to co-found, led, and managed a cross-cultural outreach ministry which reached 600 young people every week. My work in leadership and management in education and not-for-profit organisations helped to develop my understanding and compassion for people in helping professions and ministry.
Insights from my own experience and the research work I did for my MA degree on burnout, have given me an intimate understanding of the passion that calls individuals to a vocation of helping others and the hidden risks they face.
I know the importance and value of having intentional space 2 reflect, to recalibrate, and refresh – to ensure sustainability and longevity in our vocation.
