Val Steele
Recognised Supervisor
Val Steele is a Clinical Counsellor and Supervisor who integrates Christian faith with professional practice.
She is passionate about people and has extensive experience in counselling clients. Her therapeutic focus includes working with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and personal/spiritual development.
Val believes it is essential for supervision to be a safe, confidential relationship where a person has a supportive space to focus on self; explore ethical issues; and process situations which arise in professional life. Her supervision is person-centred, as she understands the importance of support, providing feedback and encouraging self reflection.
Val has a community development and adult education background and lectured in the School of Counselling at Excelsia College (previously Wesley Institute). She has undertaken short term work in Uganda counselling trauma victims and delivering mentoring workshops to church leaders.
As a registered clinical supervisor with CCAA, Val supervises therapists, other clinical supervisors and provides pastoral supervision to ministers, chaplains and Christian leaders across various denominations.
